Atascadero Colony Museum is located within a 1919 Colony House owned by Atascadero Historical Society. Although the street address is Lewis Avenue, it is located directly across East Mall from the Atascadero Historic City Administration Building. Atascadero Historical Society's office is located within the Atascadero Colony Museum.
Parking is limited due to the construction fencing around the Historic City Administration Building that is currently undergoing restoration. There is parking along the road around the Sunken Gardens. The plans indicate the building will be completed in time for Atascadero's Centennial Celebration in 2013.
